Forecast

See your balance on any day, before it gets there.

SetBucks adds up what's scheduled, day by day, starting from what you have today. A short day shows up before it happens, and you know the exact day the money will be there.

We'll only email you about our launch. 14 days free, no card needed.

The projected statement of a tight month, day by day from today, the 8th, with $96.40 in checking. On the 10th, car insurance leaves the balance at −$45.60, shown in red. On the 15th, the paycheck brings it to $1,344.40, with the note "You'll have the money on the 15th".

The statement

Every day of the month, with the running total.

Realized shows only what already cleared. Projected adds everything upcoming on its due date, so you see what you'll have on any morning, and how the month ends.

The statement in Projected mode: each day of the month with money in, money out and the running total, starting from the checking account's balance, with Today marked on the 14th.

Move the bill

Move the bill from the 10th to the 20th.

Open the entry, change the date, save. Same money, no bounced payment. Only that entry moves; the recurring bill stays as it was.

The same tight month after moving car insurance from the 10th to the 20th: no day in the red, the paycheck on the 15th brings the balance to $1,486.40, the 20th pays electric and car insurance together, and the month still ends at $1,051.01. The note reads "Moved to the 20th. Same money, no surprise."

A good month

See how far your plans can go.

Add the trip, the emergency fund or the investment as a future entry. The projection shows whether it fits, without hurting the rest of the month.

Jordan's projected checking statement from today to the end of the month, with a new future transaction, Flights to Denver for $1,180.00 on the 24th. The running total stays positive and the month still ends at $4,636.17. The note reads "It fits. Still $4,636.17 at the end of the month."

Projection

The months ahead, from what's already on your ledger.

The Projection tab in Analysis looks past this month: the entries your recurring bills and income create, up to the horizon you chose for them (3, 6 or 12 months, or 2 years), plus anything else you've scheduled.

Every line opens. Mark one as paid, or edit it.

The Projection tab: money in, money out by group and what's left, for this month and the next three, with a monthly average.

How it works

The details

  • Built from what you know

Only the bills, income and plans already in SetBucks. Nothing is estimated behind your back.

  • Today is the starting point

The forecast begins from the real balance of your accounts, not from a budget.

  • Late bills, your call

Include overdue items on their due date, or leave them out and see the difference.

  • Pick the accounts

Look at one account or several together, like checking alone or checking plus savings.

  • Any month

Jump to any month to see its days, looking back at what happened or ahead at what's planned.

  • Changes show up right away

Add a bill or move a date, and every day after it updates.

Questions

Good to know

How does SetBucks forecast my balance?

It starts from what's actually in your accounts, then adds each paycheck and subtracts each bill on the day it's due. The running total for each day is what you'll have if everything goes as planned.

Does it guess my future spending?

No. The forecast only uses transactions that are already in SetBucks: your recurring bills and income, installments, and anything else you've scheduled. There are no averages and no predictions.

Can I move a bill to another day?

Yes. Open the entry and change its due date. Only that entry moves, the rest of the recurring bill stays as it was, and every day after it recalculates.

How far ahead can I see?

The statement shows any month, day by day. The Projection tab in Analysis goes further, month by month, up to the horizon you chose for your recurring bills: 3, 6 or 12 months, or 2 years.

What if a bill is late?

You choose. With “Include overdue” on, late bills count on their due date, so the forecast assumes you'll still pay them. Turn it off to see the month without them.

Never caught by surprise.

When we open, add your accounts and your regular bills, and see the exact day the money will be there.
