I built the money app I couldn't find.

Why SetBucks exists

For a long time, I looked for a personal finance app that would show me my money the way I actually think about it. I tried a lot of them. Each one did a piece of the job: one listed transactions, another tracked subscriptions, a third drew charts.

None of them put the whole picture in one place. What came in and what went out. What repeats every month. The bills still on their way. How the month was going to end. And where the money went, category by category.

So I built SetBucks. First for myself, to solve my own problem.

I use it every day for my own money. In a tight month it tells me the exact day the money will be there, and when a bill has to move. In a good month it tells me how far a plan can go without hurting the rest. That is the clarity I wanted, and the one I want you to have.

Who's behind it

I've spent more than seven years building software for businesses, and a lot of it has been about money: billing, recurring invoices, financial management. In that kind of system, a number that's off by a cent is a bug, and the people using it need to trust what they see without checking it twice. I built SetBucks with the same care, for the money that matters most to you: your own.

What I want SetBucks to be

• No background in finance required.
