Launching soon

Bank connection

Your transactions arrive on their own.

Connect your bank through Stripe, read-only and never with your bank password. Your month stays up to date without you typing a thing.

We'll only email you about our launch. 14 days free, no card needed.

A Netflix charge of $15.49 arrives from the bank, on the Rewards Card. In the ledger, the Netflix entry that was a forecast for Oct 16 is now marked "Replaced the forecast", paid on 10/14.

No double counting

The real charge takes the forecast's place.

Set up Netflix as a recurring bill. When your bank reports the actual charge, it takes the place of that month's forecast, and the entry says so. The months ahead keep their forecasts, so your plan stays intact.

Found in your bank

Repeat charges, spotted for you.

SetBucks looks through what your bank reports for charges that come back month after month, and shows how often it saw each one. You decide: add it to your recurring bills, or tell SetBucks it isn't recurring.

A card titled "Found in your bank" proposes YouTube Premium, charged around the 21st and seen 5 times, at $13.99 a month. After "Add to recurring", it becomes an active monthly recurring bill, next on 10/21/2026.

How it works

The details

  • Through Stripe, read-only

Connections run on Stripe Financial Connections. We never see your bank password, and we can't move money.

  • Transactions only

We ask for your transactions and nothing else, plus the bank's name, the kind of account and its last four digits.

  • Refreshed every day

Your connected accounts refresh once a day, so the month keeps up without you doing anything.

  • Only finished transactions

Pending charges are skipped because their amount can still change. They come in once your bank finishes processing them.

  • One answer per merchant

When a merchant needs a category, you answer once. SetBucks remembers it, so you're not asked again.

  • Up to 5 banks

Checking, savings and credit cards, at up to 5 banks. Disconnect any of them whenever you want.

Questions

Good to know

Is it safe to link my bank account to SetBucks?

Bank connections run on Stripe Financial Connections. You sign in with your bank or with Stripe, never with us, so we never see your bank username or password. Access is read-only, and our database keeps only a reference to the connection, which does nothing without a key stored outside the database.

Can SetBucks move money or make payments?

No. We ask for your transactions and nothing else. We can't move money, make payments, or change anything at your bank.

Which accounts can I connect?

Checking, savings and credit card accounts, from up to 5 banks.

Do I have to connect a bank?

No. SetBucks works fully with accounts you add by hand. You can type transactions in, set up recurring bills, and import CSV, Excel (XLSX) or OFX files from your bank.

Why doesn't a purchase from today show up yet?

Only transactions your bank has finished processing are imported, so a purchase from today usually appears in a day or two. Pending charges are skipped because their amount can still change.

What happens when I disconnect a bank?

Our access ends. The transactions already imported stay in your records, unless you choose to delete them.

Your bank fills it in. You read it.

When we open, connect your bank, read-only, and your month takes shape on its own.

We'll only email you about our launch. 14 days free, no card needed.
